5 Lions is the 2018 Pragmatic Play original behind its 5 Lions series, an Asian-themed slot on a 5x3 grid with 243 ways to win and a golden lion wild that multiplies base-game wins by up to 40x. Three or more Yin Yang scatters open a free spins menu where you choose your own balance between the number of spins and the size of the wild multipliers.
Game mechanics
Wins come from matching symbols on adjacent reels starting at the left, across 243 ways on the 5x3 grid, so there are no fixed paylines to follow. The golden lion is the wild, and any base-game win that includes it is multiplied by a random value of up to 40x. Dragons, phoenixes, frogs, fish and tortoises are among the paying symbols.
Three or more Yin Yang scatters lead to a menu instead of a fixed bonus. Each option trades spin count against wild multiplier strength: the longer packages give many spins with small multipliers, and the shortest gives just six spins in which wilds can multiply wins by up to 40x.
Features
- Free spins choice. The Yin Yang scatters bring up a list of free spins packages, each pairing a number of spins with a range of wild multipliers.
- Lion wild multipliers. In the base game a win with the golden lion is multiplied by a random value up to 40x; in free spins the multiplier range depends on the package picked, topping out at 40x.
- 243 ways to win. Matching symbols on neighbouring reels, counted from the leftmost reel, pay wherever they sit on the 5x3 grid.
- Retriggers. Scatters that land during the bonus can retrigger it, lengthening the package you chose.
How to play the free demo
- Whenever the golden lion is part of a win, note the random multiplier, up to 40x, applied to that win; wins are read across 243 ways from the left-hand reel.
- When three or more Yin Yang scatters land, look over the free spins menu before choosing: the shorter the package, the higher its wild multipliers can go.
- Scatters that land inside the round can retrigger it and lengthen the package you chose, so keep counting them in the 5 Lions demo.
Why try the 5 Lions demo
The lions on these reels are Chinese guardian lions, and the game's main decision arrives with the scatters: many free spins with small multipliers, or as few as six with multipliers reaching 40x. Since the menu returns with every bonus, the demo lets each package be played rather than guessed at.
