Ways of the Qilin is a PG Soft slot built around the qilin, the hooved creature of Chinese legend said to herald good fortune. Its six reels pay across up to 46,656 ways, and a symbol that wins turns gold, then becomes wild if it wins a second time.
Game mechanics
Matching symbols on adjacent reels, counted from the left, form a win in Ways of the Qilin, and with the grid at full height up to 46,656 ways are in play. Every win is cleared away and new symbols drop in from above, so one spin can string several wins together.
The game's twist lies in what happens to a winning symbol. After its first win it turns gold, and a gold symbol that features in another cascade win becomes a wild. The RTP stands at 96.69%, volatility is medium, and wins are capped at 7,106x.
Features
- Ways to win. Up to 46,656 ways across six reels, with wins counted along adjacent reels starting from the leftmost one.
- Cascading wins. Each winning combination is removed and replaced by symbols falling from above, so a spin can chain win after win.
- Gold-to-wild symbols. A symbol that wins turns gold. If that gold symbol wins again in a later cascade, it transforms into a wild.
- Free spins. Four or more scatters start the round. Each triggering scatter reveals extra spins or a starting multiplier, and every winning cascade lifts the win multiplier by 1x.
How to play the free demo
- A Ways of the Qilin demo spin does not stop at the first win: each one clears away and new symbols fall in, so follow the chain to its end.
- Track the symbols in each win: they turn gold, and a gold one that wins again becomes a wild that keeps the chain going.
- Four or more scatters bring free spins, so see whether each scatter reveals extra spins or a starting multiplier.
- During the round, count the winning cascades, because each one adds 1x to the multiplier.
Why try the Ways of the Qilin demo
Following one symbol from its first win to gold and then to wild is the clearest view of the game's twist, and the demo lets you do it spin after spin. A full free spins round then shows how high the multiplier gets when every winning cascade adds 1x to it.
