12 Zodiacs is a Habanero slot built on the Chinese zodiac, with 18 paylines on a 5x3 grid that pay from the left and from the right. In its free spins the reels show nothing but Zodiac symbols, and each one pays as a scatter wherever it lands.
Game mechanics
All 18 lines count in both directions across the 5x3 grid. Wilds never land on reel 1, and at random a wild in a winning combination pays x3. The rating is very low volatility, with 166x as the top multiplier. Three or more scatters anywhere trigger the free spins, during which only Zodiac symbols appear and each pays as a scatter wherever it falls; the free spins cannot be retriggered.
Features
- Two-direction paylines. Each of the 18 lines reads from left to right and from right to left.
- Random x3 wilds. Wilds stay off reel 1, and at random one in a winning combination pays x3.
- Zodiac free spins. Scatters start them when three or more land anywhere. Only Zodiac symbols appear, each paying as a scatter, and the round cannot be retriggered.
Why 12 Zodiacs has five RTP settings
Habanero's website lists five RTP settings for 12 Zodiacs: about 86%, 92%, 94%, 96% and 98%. Each version keeps the name and artwork, with the maths tuned to a different long-run return. The casino picks which one it runs, within any minimum its regulator sets. Studios say they offer several because markets differ: minimums vary between regulators, and casinos weigh taxes, margins and commercial terms. A higher setting does not guarantee a profit, and a short session can finish up or down either way. This demo uses virtual credits: nothing is deposited, withdrawn or paid out, so the setting has no financial effect.

How to play the free demo
- Read each spin of the 12 Zodiacs demo from both ends, since all 18 lines pay left to right and right to left.
- Wilds never appear on reel 1, so look for them further along; at random, one in a winning line pays x3.
- Three or more scatters, anywhere on the grid, start the free spins. For the rest of that round, every Zodiac symbol that lands pays as a scatter.
Why try the 12 Zodiacs demo
Only Zodiac symbols land in the free spins of this 2016 game, and every one of them pays as a scatter, so count them on each free spin. In the base game, follow any wild that joins a winning line and see whether its random x3 turns up.
